In September 2017 the Stamford Residences & Reynell Terraces, an Excel managed property) applied to participate in the Smart Green Apartments program run by the City of Sydney to assist with gaining a NABERS rating for the residential building.

Susie Smith, Excel Building Manager (Tru Brite sister company) attending training sessions provided by City of Sydney which covered topic such as Managing Energy in a NABERS World, Energy – Lighting, Pools, HWS, Pumps & Fans, HVAC, Water Conservation in Cooling Towers & Electric Vehicles + Solar Power. All information was then sent to each Building Manager to build their own building’s training portfolio and to assist with the training & to help buildings reduce their energy consumption, costs & to reduce their building’s footprint.
On close consultation with our service providers, Susie was able to implement some of the acquired information & practices into action by saving energy. This was achieved by introducing better preventative maintenance practices and by monitoring and querying contractors.
All results and the programs instigated by our building were monitored by Energy Action & Sustainability Now who reported back to the City of Sydney.
At the end of the training program for 2018, it was deemed by City of Sydney that The Stamford Residences & The Reynell Terraces were on the right track to make major energy savings. Subsequently, at an awards ceremony, Sue Smith was presented the 2018 Smart Green Apartments award by the Lord Mayor of Sydney Clover Moore, for Outstanding Building Manager.
